Donate supplies for back to school

The Spokane Valley Community Center is collecting school supplies so that low-income students can start the school year with the binders and backpacks they need.

Supplies are being gathered for distribute on Aug. 25, for the center’s back-to-school program, which also offers medical care and visits to the food and clothing banks.

Families can sign up for assistance and make appointments for immunizations and physicals offered through the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile (927-1153). Appointments will be accepted through Aug. 20.

The community can help by donating felt markers, scissors, backpacks, binders, protractors, calculators and other school supplies to the Spokane Valley Community Center, 10814 E. Broadway Ave.

The center is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
