• Again am asked why Germans are called “Germans.” When their ancient forefathers entered battle, they shouted, yelled, hollered a lot, and the Gauls called them “Germani,” from a Celtic word meaning “to shout.”

• It was not customary for people to sleep in private bedrooms until about 500 years ago. Before then, family members bundled in a common bedding corner.
