Special music at First Presbyterian Church – The church and the Northwest Sacred Music Chorale will perform only once the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” by Wilhausky, today at 11:30 a.m. at the church, 521 Lakeside. Cynthia Haberman Marlette will conduct. Information: 765-1707.

Sixth Street Melodrama – Wallace opens its summer season with “Wallace…Cleanest town in the West…or…Ain’t no Sin in Wallace,” Wednesday. Downtown Coeur d’Alene Concert Series – The Marauders will perform country-western music from 6-8 p.m. in Sherman Square Park Thursday. Bad weather moves the concert to the Coeur d’Alene Resort Plaza. Information: 667-3162.

Fresh Aire Concert Series – Moscow Arts Commission’s community band, under the direction of Gary Gemberling, will perform Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the East City Park at Third and Hayes. Information: 883-7036.

University of Idaho Repertory Theatre – “You Can’t Take it With You” opens Thursday with evening shows at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. in the Hartung Theatre at Sixth and Stadium. Tickets and information: 1-88-88UIDAHO or www.uitheatre.com.

Free family movie night – Friday, 7 p.m., at Lutheran Church of the Master will show “Shrek,” followed by dessert. The church is at the corner of Ramsey and Kathleen.

Events

Fourth of July in Coeur d’Alene – Food and craft vendors begin at 11 a.m. in City Park, with the American Heroes Parade beginning at noon with a flyby from Fairchild Air Force Base. Manito performs at 2 p.m. in City Park, and Charlie Butts and the Filter Tips take the stage at 5:30 p.m. Spectacular fireworks at dusk.

Fourth of July Cruise to Harrison – Depart from the Chatcolet Marina in Heyburn State Park at 8 p.m., and return about midnight after viewing the fireworks display put on by the city of Harrison. $14.95 adults, $9.95 youths and free for children under age 5. Information and reservations: 686-4030.

Massage-A-Thon – The Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County will be holding this fund-raiser at the Coeur d’Alene City Park today. Massage therapists will offer free massages, 3-9 p.m., with local businesses pledging 10 cents a minute to raise funds to start construction on a new youth facility. Information: 659-2726.

Coeur d’Alene Public Library – will be closed today and Monday in observance of Independence Day. The library will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

11th annual Bead Stampede – today, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., in Building 3 at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds. It’s free. Information: 676-9957.

Discover New Trails at Your Library – Sally Lodato, a globe trekker, will share her adventures of bicycling around the world Wednesday from 1:30-3 p.m. at the Post Falls Public Library. Bike safety will be emphasized. The library is at 821 Spokane St. Information: 773-1506.
