Little Deuce Moose the favorite

The Spokesman-Review

After nine days of voting, the readers of Handle Extra and spokane7.com have named the winner of The Spokesman-Review’s No Moose Left Behind contest winner.

Readers were asked to choose their favorite of the 26 fiberglass moose statues on display around the Coeur d’Alene area as part of a fund-raiser for the EXCEL Foundation.

The winning moose is Little Deuce Moose by local artist David Clemons. The Little Deuce Moose came in first with 84 votes, while the second-runner up, Monarch Moose by Michael Horswill, won 57 votes.

To see the final results, go to www.spokane7.com/arts/moose and click on poll results. Also cruise the online gallery to enjoy all 26 moose or locate them so you can appreciate them in person. The moose will be on public display until Sept. 25, when they will be auctioned off to raise money for innovative programs in the Coeur d’Alene School District.

You can learn more about Little Deuce Moose and its artist in a Sunday Close to Home column by Cynthia Taggart in the regular pages of The Spokesman-Review.
