Forest Organic Debris and Slash Program – Preregister by Friday for the July 9 program at the USFS Priest River Experimental Forest, 13 miles north of Priest River. Program will run from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; $10 covers handouts and refreshments. Call 263-8511 to register, or 446-1680 for program questions.

11th annual Bead Stampede – Friday from noon-5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds, Building 3. The event is free. Information: 676-9957.

Bayview Daze – arts and crafts Friday through Sunday, 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. There will be a parade Saturday at 11 a.m., and a lighted boat parade at dusk. Fireworks will follow. On Sunday, boat parade awards will be at noon at the Captain’s Wheel restaurant.

Program on the Bald Eagle at Heyburn State Park – Meet at Hawley’s Landing Amphitheater Friday at 8 p.m. for patriotic bingo and family games. Saturday meet at Hawley’s Landing for junior rangers at 11 a.m., nature hike at 2:30 p.m. and a special themed cruise at 8 p.m. on the St. Joe River. On Sunday there will be Fourth of July games at 11 a.m. Information and registration for the cruise: 686-4030.

Kootenai County Farmers’ Market – Saturday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m., with entertainment by Daniel Jaklich followed by Bill Turner. The market is at Highway 95 and Prairie Ave. Information: 772-2290.

Lighted Boat Parade – At dark, about 10 p.m., on Lake Coeur d’Alene, Saturday. The parade will follow the shoreline starting at the Cedars Floating restaurant, continuing toward the Coeur d’Alene Resort and around Tubbs Hill to the Silver Beach Marina. Twenty 35-40 foot boats will participate.

Free Variety Show – between the Grand Parade and the Fireworks display in Sandpoint, Saturday. The Albeni Falls Pipes and Drums kick it off at 11:30 a.m., followed by Stoik (heavy metal), District of Insomnia (alternative), No Cover (alternative), Lance Marley (country), Muskrat Ramblers (blue grass), Five Fingered Mary (pop), and Dusk Illusion 33 (funk). Summer Sounds at Park Place – Time Machine will perform Saturday, noon to 2 p.m., at the park, 330 N. First Ave., in Sandpoint. It is free.

Fourth of July in Coeur d’Alene – Food and craft vendors begin at 11 a.m. in City Park, with the American Heroes Parade beginning at noon with a fly-by from Fairchild Air Force Base. Manito performs at 2 p.m. in City Park, and Charlie Butts and the Filter Tips take the stage at 5:30 p.m. Spectacular fireworks at dusk.

Fourth of July Cruise to Harrison – Depart from the Chatcolet Marina in Heyburn State Park Sunday at 8 p.m., and return about midnight after viewing the fireworks display put on by the City of Harrison. $14.95 adults, $9.95 children. Under 5 are free. Information and reservations: 686-4030.

Special music at First Presbyterian Church – The church and the Northwest Sacred Music Chorale will perform only once the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” by Wilhausky, Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at the church, 521 Lakeside. This is open to any singers in the community, so show up for rehearsal Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Men and women in uniform, past or present, are encouraged to attend. Coeur d’Alene Public Library – will be closed Sunday and Monday in observance of Independence Day. The library will open at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Hayden Lake Management Plan Steering Committee – Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Hayden Lake City Hall, 9545 N. Strahorn, to discuss storm-water enforcement, information and education as well as the citizen’s monitoring program. Information: 769-1422.
