Spokane Symphony Chorale schedules auditions for Jan. 10
AUDITIONS FOR THE SPOKANE Symphony Chorale, a volunteer chorus affiliated with the Spokane Symphony, will be Jan. 10 at Holy Names Music Center, 3910 W. Custer Drive.
Upcoming Symphony Chorale appearances include the Feb. 19 pops concert with John Williams and a May 20 classics concert featuring the Glorias by Vivaldi and Poulenc.
Auditions will consist of a prepared solo (memorization not necessary), sight-reading and vocalization. An accompanist will be provided.
Tenors and basses are especially encouraged to audition. Auditions will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Call 466-2823 to schedule a time.
Civic Theatre audition
The Spokane Civic Theatre is holding auditions for its upcoming Reading Stage performance of ” ‘Night Mother” on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Main Stage lobby, 1020 N. Howard St.
This play, which explores a woman contemplating suicide and her relationship with her mother, will be presented in a single performance Jan. 9.
Director Katie Robbins is looking for one woman to appear in her 30s or 40s, and another to appear in her 50s or 60s. Auditioners will be asked to read from the script, which can be checked out for a $20 refundable deposit.
The actors selected will not be required to memorize lines for the performance.
