Alzheimer’s Association: Inland Northwest Chapter – Help-line volunteers are needed to provide information and referrals to callers coping with dementia and related issues. Also provide callers with reassurance and emotional support, as well as informational material through the mail. Training will be provided. Epilepsy Foundation Washington, Eastern Regional Office – “Epilepsy: OUT in the OPEN Walk” is Oct. 2 at 8 a.m. at the Mirabeau Parkway North Trailhead. Hospice of Spokane – Volunteer to work with clients in their final stages of life. Prepare meals, do light housekeeping or just be there for company. Training starts in September and October. For information, call Jim at 456-0438 or e-mail jedwards@hospiceofspokane.org.

Spokane Regional Transportation Council – Volunteers are needed to be a part of the Citizens’ Advisory Committee on Transportation, which provides feedback to professionals about how to improve Spokane’s transportation system. For information, contact Judy at 343-6370.

Catholic Charities of Spokane Summit View Apartments – Groups or individuals are needed to set up craft classes for residents. Volunteer drivers are also needed to drive families to grocery stores, doctor’s appointments and meetings. For information, call Margarita at 324-9161.

Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery – Volunteers are needed to answer phones, distribute diapers and formula and serve at the front desk. Four-hour shifts are available. For information, call Patty at 535-3155 or e-mail patty@vanessabehan.org.
