Nethercutt’s position clarified

Due to editing errors, information about Rep. George Nethercutt was incorrect on Sunday’s Election 2004 page. Nethercutt has said he does not now support a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, though he would if the federal Defense of Marriage Act were deemed unconstitutional. Also, Nethercutt’s campaign web site is www.nethercuttforsenate.com.

Tree misidentified in photo captions

Photo captions in the Sunday Outdoors & Travel section misidentified the type of tree chosen as a summer home by nesting merlins in Colville’s city park. The nest was built in a spruce, as the story reported.

Event will sell, not take, donations

Due to incorrect information supplied to the newspaper, details regarding the “Wardrobes to Women” event which appeared in the Community Update column in Sunday’s IN Life section were incorrect. The event, held on Friday and Saturday, will not be accepting clothing donations as stated, but rather will have donated items for sale.
