SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners traded left-handed reliever Mike Myers to the Boston Red Sox on Friday for a player to be named or cash.
Myers joined Seattle before spring training and went 4-1 with a 4.88 ERA in 50 relief appearances this season. He pitched 27 2/3 innings, allowing 29 hits and 17 walks while striking out 23.
To fill the spot on the major league roster, the Mariners recalled right-hander Cha Seung Baek from Triple-A Tacoma and he was in Tampa Bay on Friday.
Baek, a South Korean, spent most of the season with Tacoma, making 11 starts with a 4-3 record and 4.28 ERA.
