Teen Arrested In Knife-Point Robbery

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 17-year-old boy was arrested Saturday after he cut a dead cat’s throat, then put the knife to a boy’s neck, according to Spokane police.

Two boys, 15 and 19 years old, were walking along Sprague Avenue near Altamont about 11:30 p.m. when they saw a dead cat in the street, according to police.

They moved the cat. Then the 17-year-old walked up to them, took out a pocketknife, cut the cat’s throat and laughed, the boys told police.

The boy with the knife then grabbed the 15-year-old and held the blade against his neck, police said. He demanded money.

One of the boys knocked the knife away, then told the 17-year-old he’d better run before police arrived. He ran.

Police arrested the 17-year-old after being told where he was by two friends of the victims. The youth was booked on two counts of first-degree robbery.
