Mpm Technologies To Sell Mining Claims

MPM Technologies Inc., formed a decade ago as a mining company, will sell off its claims and equipment to focus on its expanding air pollution-control business, spokesman Robert Little said Wednesday.

MPM Mining Inc. controls 32 claims incorporating 1,000 acres near Deer Lodge, Mont., he said. Proven reserves include 100,000 ounces of gold and 1.5 million ounces of silver.

MPM Mining as well as several other companies have drilled the property, but none decided to proceed with the opening of a mine.

Meanwhile, the parent company has been building its pollution-control business. MPM purchased Huntington Environmental Systems Inc. last year and expects to complete another purchase soon, that of RaySolv Inc., Little said.

“We’re going in a whole different direction now,” he said.
