Swine Update

One of two pigs that captivated Britain by escaping from a slaughterhouse and frolicking for several days before being captured has been immortalized in a stone carving at the 13th-century Lady Chapel at Hereford Cathedral in western England. Butch and the Sundance Pig are living out their days in an animal sanctuary after sparking a nationwide hunt in January. To commemorate their great escape, stonemasons have carved Butch’s likeness on a 4-foot block that will be set atop the chapel. “It is a fabulous carving of Butch’s face,” said Sue Embrey, director of the Cathedral Perpetual Trust.
