Soroptimist International Awards Groups For Efforts

Soroptimist International of Coeur d’Alene has awarded $6,000 to community organizations for their continued support and efforts. Recipient organizations are listed.

Trinity Group Homes, Lake City Health Care, Holt International, Women’s Forum, Children’s Village, Coeur d’Alene Homes, Women in Action, CASA, Women’s Center, I CARE, Post Falls Food Bank, Genesis Association, Kootenai County Humane Society, Lake City Playhouse, Panhandle Health District, Special Olympics and St. Pius Soup Kitchen.

The Emporium recently donated $1,500 to the Habitat for Humanity in exchange for 100 Habitat volunteers to take inventory at the store.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, volunteer group that builds first-time homes for families, who otherwise would not be eligible to become homeowners.

The money will fund building supplies and other construction costs.
