Ritzville Rolls Streak To 29 Games

Ritzville’s winning streak began in earnest last year while defeating Reardan at two girls postseason tournaments.
The streak reached 29 on Tuesday with a 53-38 defeat of Reardan. No tourney was involved this time because the teams play in different classifications.
Shannon Russel scored 10 of her 23 points in the third quarter to lead the Class B top-ranked Broncos (19-0) over the host Indians (9-9).
Reardan, in its first season of 1A play, missed 10 field-goal attempts in the first quarter and finished with 18 turnovers.
Ritzville’s won 34 of its last 35.

The Falcons shot 21 of 82 from the field. S-H has already clinched the No. 2 seed to the Bi-County tournament. Ritzville is No. 1.

J.J. Barlow’s rebound basket capped a four-point swing in the second quarter as the host Timberwolves (10-8, 7-7) recovered from a 9-2 deficit to defeat the technical-plagued Bulldogs (6-12, 3-11) at Coeur d’Alene.
Sandpoint’s Caleb Bowman was whistled for a technical foul for dropping Jacob Lenz when the two tied up going after a loose ball in the second quarter. Bulldogs coach Tyler Haynes also received a technical on the play. The Bulldogs had a 10-0, fourth-quarter run to cut into a 24-point lead, but post Stefon Kleinert then picked up a technical for elbowing LC’s Griffin Rod. Paramedics attended to Rod, who momentarily lost consciousness.
