Police Seek Suspect In Beer Theft

From Staff And Wire Reports

Police are seeking a man involved in an unsuccessful convenience store beer heist on Saturday morning.

Around 12:45 a.m., two men entered Your Qwik Stop at 3219 N. Nevada and tried to steal two half-cases of beer, said police spokesman Dick Cottam.

While one man distracted the clerk by purchasing some beer, the other ran from the store with the stolen half-cases. When the clerk gave chase, one of the men threw cans of beer at him, Cottam said.

The suspects drove off, but witnesses gave police the vehicle’s license plate number. At 2:45 a.m., police arrested Michael Walker, 22, who was found with the vehicle and booked him into jail on suspicion of first degree robbery, Cottam said. , DataTimes
