Clowe’s Big Night Lifts Cv

Kris Gilroy Correspondent

The experience of Central Valley’s offense and defense served the Bears well Friday night as they thrashed Shadle Park 56-7.

The scoreboard flashed 21-0 after the first quarter and 42-0 at halftime.

The league-favorite Bears got several standout performances.

Tyree Clowe scored five touchdowns for the Bears. Only three players in GSL history have scored more than five TDs in a game.

The junior running back racked up 129 yards on the ground, a good chunk of that coming on a 44-yard dash for his third score. Four of his touchdowns came in the first half.

Senior quarterback Chad Adamson, who ran for two touchdowns, completed 6 of 6 passes for 120 yards in the first half.

Mike Tasca rammed through a pack of players from the 2-yard line for Central Valley’s other score. Greg Papich was perfect on all of his point-after kicks.

Chris Richardson ran 13 yards for Shadle Park’s only touchdown in the fourth quarter to prevent a shutout.

“We got some awful good breaks early on,” said Central Valley coach Rick Giampietri, adding that he hadn’t expected such a blowout.”We got momentum going, and our kids fought hard after that. Once we got on a roll, it was hard to stop us.”

CV’s defense was as dominant as the offense. The Highlanders had only 9 yards rushing on 22 carries in the first half. For the game, the Highlanders gained 101 yards on the ground. They were 4 of 9 for 43 yards through the air.

Shadle also lost three of four fumbles.
