River Of No Return
Two developers have strung a cable across the river featured in the acclaimed 1972 movie “Deliverance,” starring Burt Reynolds and Jon Voight, and posted a no-trespassing sign to keep rafters off the water. They bought 230 acres along the west fork of the Chattooga River, along the border between Georgia and South Carolina, for $1.5 million in August and may build a golf course and houses on the land. They complain that rafters have made a mess of the area.
