Weyerhaeuser To Buy Sawmill In Michigan

Weyerhaeuser Co. of Federal Way, Wash., signed an agreement last week to purchase a sawmill in Lewiston, Mich., from Export Corp. of Brighton, Mich.

The sawmill is located on a 16-acre site 35 miles northeast of Grayling, Mich., where Weyerhaeuser operates an oriented strand board facility.

Also, Northwest Hardwoods, a division of Weyerhaeuser, is acquiring Lewiston Forest Products Co. in Lewiston, Mich., for an undisclosed price.

Weyerhaeuser sold 600,000 acres of timberland and its sawmills in southern Oregon to U.S. Timberlands last year. , DataTimes
