Pickup Driver Dies In Collision With Semi

A 37-year-old Puyallup, Wash., man was killed when his compact pickup truck collided with a semi-truck on U.S. 12.

Idaho State Police said Darren R. Logan was eastbound in the pickup about three miles east of Lenore on Wednesday when it veered into the westbound lane. A westbound semi driven by Melvin Roberts of Portland, Ore., swerved to the left and the pickup swerved back to the right, but the brakes on both vehicles locked and they collided head-on at the center line.

Logan died at the scene. Roberts was not badly injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, police said.
