Russian Yevgeny Kafelnikove and Spain’s Sergi Bruguera have claimed the final two spots in the eight-man ATP Tour World Championship.
Kafelnikove advanced with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 win over Petr Korda Sunday in the final of the Kremlin Cup. Bruguera backed in when Marcelo Rios lost to Julian Alonso 6-2, 6-1 in the Chevrolet Cup at Santiago, Chile.
Kafelnikov and Bruguera join Pete Sampras, Michael Chang, Patrick Rafter, Jonas Bjorkman, Carlos Moya and Greg Rusedski in the Championships, which open Tuesday at Monte Carlo, Monaco.
Bjorkman defeated Jan Siemerink in four sets to win the Stockholm Open at Stockholm, Sweden.
Sixth for Davenport
Lindsay Davenport defeated Nathalie Tauziat 6-0, 7-5 to win the Ameritech Cup at Chicago, her sixth tournament title of the season.
