Elaine Price Spokane

Service for Elaine S. Price, 51, will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Price, who was a resident of Spokane for 19 years, died Monday.

She was born in Brazoria, Texas and worked in the dietary department at the Shriners Hospital for Children.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church and Eagles Lodge No. 2.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph; two sons, Kenneth Price of Boise and Joseph Price of Spokane; two daughters, Dolores Ellsworth of San Antonio, Texas and Dola Price of Austin, Texas; her mother, Dolores Cuneo of Spokane; five brothers, Royce and Gary Cuneo, both of Spokane, Jeff Cuneo of Oregon, Eddie Cuneo of Guam and Glenn Cuneo of Fort Lewis, Wash.; her grandmother, Mildred Nelson of Shelton, Wash., and five grandchildren.

Frank Perry Spokane

Vigil service for Frank A. Perry, 69, will be at 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mr. Perry, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Saturday.

He graduated in 1947 from Rogers High School and served in the Navy.

Mr. Perry worked for the Great Northern Railway and Burlington Northern Railroad for 37 years as a carman welder. He retired in 1984.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge No. 2, the Ancient Order of United Workmen, and the TCU Local 6313.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wanda; a son, Larry Perry of Spokane; a daughter, Glenda Dalton of Spokane; a brother, George Perry of Spokane; a sister, Laura Odette of Spokane; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to St. Patrick Catholic Church.

David Baldwin Steptoe, Wash.

Visitation for David Baldwin, 81, will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday, and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax, Wash. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Colfax Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Colfax.

Born in Colfax, Mr. Baldwin died Tuesday.

He graduated in 1934 from Colfax High School and worked as a farmer on the family homestead.

In 1950 he married Emma Schierman in Missoula.

Mr. Baldwin was a member of the Colfax Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, JoLynn Garrison of Monroe, Wash., and Vicki Turner of Omak, Wash.; two sisters, Ruth Henderson and Rosena Gunn, both of Colfax and three grandchildren.

Debra (Florey) Eik Brandon Eik Spokane

Memorial service for Debra K. (Florey) Eik, 38 and her son, Brandon Eik, 6, was Wednesday at Bethany Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Eik, who was born in Billings, Mont., and Brandon, who was born in Spokane, were both found dead Saturday from gunshot wounds.

She moved to Hayden Lake in 1968 and graduated from Lakeland High School in 1977.

In 1984 she married Edward Eik in Spokane.

Mrs. Eik was employed by the Idaho Forest Industries for 18 years.

Brandon was a student at Ponderosa Elementary School.

Survivors include their husband and father, Edward Eik; their son and brother, Brian Eik at home; their mother and grandmother, June Florey of Post Falls; his grandmother, Alice Eik of Spokane; her two brothers, Willard Florey of Kettle Falls, Wash., and Wayne Florey of Coeur d’Alene and her sister, Kayleen Florey of Post Falls.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane Valley Junior Soccer Association.

Nellie Lay Spokane

Visitation for Nellie Lee Lay, 68, will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Born in Yakima, Mrs. Lay died Friday.

She was a Spokane resident for 47 years and worked for School District 81 for 24 years at Lewis and Clark High School and Sheridan Elementary School.

Mrs. Lay was involved with organizations working for equal rights and education, at the local, state and national levels. She was president of the Washington Social Workers and Welfare Association and was on the board of directors of the Washington Education Association.

She was one of the first directors of the Spokane Eastside Neighborhood Center, organized the first Miss Black Spokane Beauty Pageant and held various positions with such organizations such as the NAACP, the League of Women Voters, Affirmative Action, Planned Parenthood and Blacks in Government.

Mrs. Lay was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In 1987 she was named the Washington Education Association Classified Employee of the Year.

Survivors include two sons, Harvey Allen of Florida and Bruce Allen of California; three daughters, Brenda Stamps of California, Fleta Lay of Spokane and Thelma Lay of Germany; three brothers, Herbert Jones of Lacey, Wash., Willie Jones of California and Edward Jones of Washington state; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Marion ‘Deke’ Menning Moscow, Idaho

Graveside service for Marion S. “Deke” Menning, 69, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Steptoe (Wash.) Cemetery. Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Menning, who died Tuesday, was born in South Dakota.

He grew up in Steptoe and graduated from Steptoe High School in 1945. He went on to become a farmer.

Mr. Menning served with the Army during the Korean War before moving to Colfax, Wash., in 1952.

He worked for a few years at the Whitman County Surveyor’s office before moving to California, where he worked as a carpenter.

Mr. Menning moved to Moscow in 1963 and worked for Vern Johnson & Sons as a carpenter, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local No. 313 in Spokane.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Ruby; a son, Gary Menning of Kalispell, Mont.; a stepdaughter, Beverly Proctor of Texas; two sisters, Ann Farmer and Ruth Menning, both of Spokane; two brothers, Albert Menning of Steptoe and Andrew Menning of California, and three grandsons.

Kimberli Farris Olympia

Memorial service for Kimberli Kay Farris, a former Spokane resident, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hennessey Valley Funeral Home. Woodlawn Funeral Home in Lacey, Wash., is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Farris, who was born in San Diego, died Monday from complications due to lupus. She was 32.

She graduated in 1982 from Prosser High School in Prosser, Wash., and in 1989 from Eastern Washington University with a degree in business administration.

In 1993 she married Trevor Farris in Spokane.

Mrs. Farris worked as a claims specialist for State Farm Insurance.

Her and her husband moved to Olympia a year ago after living in the Spokane area for about 10 years.

Survivors include her husband; her father, Satini Liufau of Aiea, Hawaii; her mother, Kay Ronquillo of Pasco; two sisters, Raquel Burgess of Salem, Ore., and Traci Liufau of Aiea, Hawaii; and three brothers, Jesse Ronquillo of Salem, Jason Ronquillo of Ellensburg and Satini Liufau of Loveland, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Inland Northwest Wildlife Council.

Frank Moran Spokane

Service for Frank Moran, 69, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Friends Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Moran, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Moran worked in the 1950’s for Kaiser Aluminum at Mead and later owned and operated several service stations throughout Spokane.

He was a member of the Spokane Rose Society.

His wife, Mary Moran, died in 1995.

Survivors include four sons, Mike Moran of Hemet, Calif., Frank Moran of Deer Park, Steve Moran of Spokane and Glenn Moran of Mead; two sisters, Lucille Wood of Spokane and Annie Hill of Mesa, Ariz., and three grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Erwin Zehm Fairfield

Service for Erwin C. Zehm, 89, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Zehm, who was born in Waverly, died Monday.

He graduated from Waverly High School and then farmed for a few years.

Mr. Zehm moved to Spangle in 1934 and continued to farm there. He retired in 1964.

He then moved to the Cheney/Fish Lake area, where he lived until 1994 when he moved to Fairfield.

He was a member of the Spangle Grange, Spangle Service Club and the Lions Club.

He is survived by two sons, Larry Zehm of Spangle and Monty Zehm of Medical Lake; a daughter, Sandra Stalnaker of Connell, Wash.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Hugh Allen Redmond, Wash.

Memorial service for Hugh H. Allen, 83, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Spokane. Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home in Seattle is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Allen, who was born in Harrison, Ark., died Thursday.

He was the first president of the associated student body at Rogers High School and was in the school’s first graduating class.

Mr. Allen worked for the Postal Service for more than 30 years and retired in 1969.

He was a member of the North Hill Masonic Lodge and the National Federated Kraft.

Mr. Allen lived in Spokane for 65 years before moving to Redmond in 1985.

His wife, Rosamond, died in 1983.

Survivors include two sons, William Allen of Redmond and Robert Allen of Seattle; a brother, Carl Allen of Spokane; a sister, Helen Skinner of Spokane and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or Hutton Settlement.

Adeline Moore Spokane

Service for Adeline Mary Moore, 81, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow at the cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Moore, who was born in Orrville, Ohio, died Friday.

She had been a resident of the Spokane area since 1986.

She worked as a dental assistant.

Mrs. Moore was a member of St. Thomas More Parish, St. Joseph Church in Colbert, the Eagles Lodge No. 2 and the Audubon Society.

Her husband, Floyd Moore, died in 1955.

She is survived by a daughter, Eileen Genest of Mead; a sister, Irene Ryan of Ohio; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane Audubon Society.

Helen Edlin Spokane

Memorial service for Helen I. Edlin, 79, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Center Pointe, 1408 N. Washington. Private burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Edlin, a 75-year Spokane resident, died Oct. 30.

She was born in Montague, Mont., and was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Tony Edlin of Spokane; five daughters, Kay Cummings, Mary Hickman, Sandy Smith, Faye Battin and Judy House, all of Spokane; a brother, Robert Spencer of Spokane; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Edna Haaland Spokane

Service for Edna Haaland, 88, is planned for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Mausoleum at Fairmount Memorial Park. Burial will follow at the cemetery. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Haaland, who was born in Hepner, Ore., died Monday.

An 80-year Spokane resident, she was a homemaker and was a member of the Sons of Norway.

She is survived by a son, Dale Smith of Spokane; three sisters, Ruth Allen, Marge Henke and Evelyn Fitterer, all of Spokane; a brother, Les Driskell of Spokane; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Donnie ‘Chief’ Lemery Deer Park

Service for Donnie Joe “Chief” Lemery, 50, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Presentation Catholic Church in Deer Park. Burial will follow in Nespelem, Wash. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of the arrangements.

Born in Spokane, Mr. Lemery died Sunday.

He graduated from Riverside High School and served in the Vietnam War.

Mr. Lemery is survived by four daughters, Ione, Heather, Jodie and Autumn Lemery, all of Spokane; a sister, Ione Evans of Deer Park; two brothers, Ron Lemery of Mead and Richard Lemery of Spokane; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Clyde Henline Spokane

Service for Clyde H. Henline, 45, will be Saturday at the Duffy-Pils Funeral Home in Colfax, Ill. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Mr. Henline, who was born in Bloomington, Ill., died Tuesday.

He moved from Illinois to Spokane 10 years ago.

He worked as an insurance adjuster.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two daughters, China Henline of Chicago and Claudia Henline of Veradale; and three sisters, June of Florida, Sally of Colfax, Ill., and China of Texas.
