Albright Wants Nato To Evaluate Albania
Secretary of State Madeleine Albright proposed Friday that NATO’s military command send an assessment team to Albania to see how the alliance can help the crisis-stricken Balkan nation.
Albright said a NATO team should consider ways to “restore a functioning, democratically controlled military in the country.”
She spoke at the inaugural meeting of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council - a group established to improve cooperation between the 16 NATO allies and 27 other European nations, most from the former Soviet-bloc.
