County Appoints New Judge To Hear Darling Case
Adams County Superior Court Judge Richard Miller has been appointed to preside this summer when former Washington State University football star and Philadelphia Eagles draft pick James Darling is tried on a felony burglary charge and three misdemeanors, Whitman County deputy prosecutor Toby Krauel said.
Adams replaces Whitman County Superior Court Judge Wallis W. Friel, who was removed from the case earlier this month when prosecutors filed an affidavit of prejudice against him.
Darling, a linebacker, was drafted in June by the Philadelphia Eagles. He pleaded not guilty to all charges May 16 and will be tried in Whitman County Superior Court beginning July 8.
