Mary ‘Eddie’ Victor Enumclaw, Wash.

Service for Mary Edna “Eddie” Victor, 81, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Garfield (Wash.) Christian Church. Burial will be at the Garfield Cemetery. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Victor, who was born in Tacoma, died Wednesday.

She attended St. Joseph’s Academy in Sprague, Wash., Marylhurst College in Portland, and Whitman College in Walla Walla and graduated from Washington State University College of Pharmacy.

In 1941 she married Neil “Vic” Victor in Spokane.

They later purchased the Westacott Drug Co. in Garfield and operated the business together as the Garfield Pharmacy for 25 years. They retired in 1976.

Her husband died in 1993.

Mrs. Victor moved from Garfield to Enumclaw three years ago.

She was a member St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Oakesdale, Wash., the Washington State Pharmaceutical Association, the Whitman-Latah County Pharmaceutical Association, the American Association of University Women, Alpha Chi Omega sorority, and the church Altar Society.

Mrs. Victor is survived by three sons, Gerry Victor of Garfield, Bill Victor of Kent, Wash., and Ed Victor of Sprague, Wash.; a sister, Martha Jane French of Stockton, Calif.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Alma Schueler Colville, Wash.

Memorial service for Alma A. Schueler, 86, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Colville United Methodist Church. Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Schueler, who was born in Norway, died Friday.

She moved to the United States as a child and attended schools in Roseau, Minn.

In 1936 she married Henry Schueler in Pittsburg.

They lived in Chicago, Kansas City, Washington, D.C., and Pittsburgh before moving to Colville in 1983.

Her husband died in 1975.

Mrs. Schueler was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Church Guild and the Christian Women’s Club.

She is survived by a son, Raymond Schueler of Colville; three brothers, Morris Gjessing of Moose Lake, Minn., and Ludwig and Philip Lund, both of Roseau, Minn.; four sisters, Betsy Nilsson, Alvina Chilgren and Thea Olson, all of St. Paul, Minn., and Helen Grafstrom of Roseau; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Society or the Colville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

William ‘Chuck’ Harker Nine Mile Falls

Visitation for William Charles “Chuck” Harker is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the East Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mr. Harker, who was born in Alberta, Canada, died Thursday. He was 81.

He had worked for Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood for 37 years and retired as supervisor of shipping in 1978.

He had lived in the Spokane Valley for 40 years before moving to Nine Mile Falls 10 years ago.

His wife Alice (Leishman) Harker died in 1975.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; two daughters, Chleo Burris and Karen Smith, both of Spokane; two stepdaughters, Judy Moss of Spokane, and Linda Swenson of Walla Walla; a stepson, Jerry Moss of Umatilla, Ore.; three sisters, Velma Broadhead and Olive Harker, both of Cardston, Alberta, and Audra Bradley of Salt Lake City; two brothers, Evan and Roy Harker, both of Cardston; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Larry Byrum Oakesdale, Wash.

Graveside service for Larry J. Byrum, 47, was held last Monday at the Oakesdale Cemetery.

Mr. Byrum, who was born in Spokane, died May 13.

He graduated from Oakesdale High School and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

He attended Eastern Washington University and Western Washington University, where he earned a degree in bookkeeping.

He worked for the Oakesdale Grain Growers, and Gardner and Smith in Tekoa. In 1981, he moved to Oak Harbor, Wash., returning to Tekoa in 1989.

He had also worked as a bookkeeper for Colfax Grange Supply until 1992.

Mr. Byrum was a member of the Oakesdale First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three brothers, Don, Dennis and Ed Byrum, all of Tekoa; and two sisters, Sharon Siders of El Dorado, Ark., and Barbara Byrum of Spokane.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tekoa Ambulance Fund or the Oakesdale First Baptist Church.

Vivian Miller Spokane

Visitation for Vivian C. Miller, 85, is scheduled from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home. Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Pines Cemetery.

Mrs. Miller died Friday.

She was born in Duluth, Minn.

She had lived in Spokane for 69 years and graduated from Northwest Business College.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Liberty Lake Ladies Golf Club and was a homemaker.

Her husband of 43 years, Osmo Miller, died in 1981.

Survivors include two sisters, Vina Johnson of Spokane and Dolly Mills of Deer Park.

Norma Macri Kellogg

Funeral Mass for Norma Macri, 75, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane. Shoshone Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Macri, who died Thursday, was born in British Columbia.

She received a teaching certificate from the University of Idaho.

Mrs. Macri worked for The Bunker Hill Mining Co. for 11 years and then worked as a typing and home economics teacher at Kellogg Junior High for 14 years. She played the French horn, piano and mandolin.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, John; a son, David Macri of Spokane; a daughter, Lynn Schumacher of Great Falls, Mont.; a brother, John Marchi of Spokane; and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kellogg Public Library or the Shoshone County Association for Retarded Citizens.

Durfee Gilbert Valley, Wash.

Service for Durfee Carl Gilbert, 81, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Valley Bible Church in Valley (Wash). Burial will be at Valley Cemetery in Valley. Schanzenbach Funeral Home in Chewelah, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gilbert, who was born in Oregon, died Thursday.

In 1968 he moved to the Valley area from Lake Stevens, Wash., where he logged and farmed.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; five sons, Berry Erickson, and Brian and Durfee Gilbert, all of Valley, Kerry Erickson of Alaska, and Randy Erickson of Waitts Lake, Wash.; a daughter, Jeannette Bollingberg of Sutherlin, Ore.; 30 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Esther Souders Kendrick, Idaho

Viewing for Esther I. Souders, 82, will be today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Short’s Funeral Chapel in Moscow. Graveside service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Southwick Cemetery near Kendrick.

Mrs. Souders, who was born near Kendrick, died Wednesday.

She grew up and attended schools in Kendrick and Crescent, Idaho.

She married Elmer Souders in Coeur d’Alene in 1935 and farmed at Crescent for many years.

Mrs. Souders moved to Kendrick in 1975.

Her husband, Elmer, died in 1974.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Patricia (Trimborn) Jackson Spokane

Memorial service for Patricia (Trimborn) Jackson, 95, was Friday at the Rockwood Manor Retirement Center. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.

Mrs. Jackson, who was born in Oakland, Neb., died Wednesday.

She attended Holy Names Academy, Lewis and Clark High School and Washington State University.

Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker and a longtime Spokane resident.

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Spokane Country Club, the American Red Cross and the Spokane Club.

Her husband, Col. Clarence Jackson, died in 1943.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Nevers and Phoebe Croonquist; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Poor Clare Nuns.

James Jack Jr. St. Maries, Idaho

Service for James “Jimmy” Jack Jr., 80, will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries.

Mr. Jack, who was born in Toronto, died Friday.

He grew up in Los Angeles and served with the Army Medical Corps during World War II.

He returned to Los Angeles, where he worked for the American Humane Society and trained animals for Hollywood movies, including training “Daisy” the dog for the Blondie movies.

Mr. Jack moved to St. Maries in the early 1960s and worked for 10th Street Lumber and a local oil company. He also worked in security at the Potlatch mill.

He was a member of the St. Maries Volunteer Fire Department, the Elks and Eagles lodges and the St. Maries Men’s Golf Association. He also was an adviser for the Benewah County Humane Society.

His wife of 30 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Falconer, died in 1976.

Survivors include his wife of eight years, Juanita.
