Man Shot In Hand In East First Drive-By

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 35-year-old Spokane man was wounded in the hand during a drive-by shooting downtown late Saturday.

The shooting on East First Street was in apparent retaliation for a brief argument between the victim, who was on foot, and the young male driver of a gray Buick, police said.

The cause of the argument was not clear. Police have not released any names.

After a brief exchange between the two men at about 11 p.m., the driver sped away. He returned a few moments later and fired a shot at the victim.

The driver was described as a tall, thin white man in his early 20s with collar-length brown hair. The victim said there were two teenagers, a man and a woman, as passengers.

The victim’s right hand was bandaged and he was released from the hospital. , DataTimes
