Ducruet Bares His Grief Before The Whole World

Compiled By Staff Writer Dan Web

Daniel Ducruet is a hard guy. A former bodyguard, he has been known to beat up people during minor traffic flaps.

But when it comes to love, Ducruet is as soft as any sensitive ‘90s male. How do we know this? Well, Ducruet admits as much in the letters of apology that he sent to his estranged wife, Princess Stephanie of Monaco.

“The night after my mistake… I felt dirty, I didn’t dare hug the children, and I couldn’t make love to you,” Ducruet wrote. Drug-laced champagne was the cause, he claimed. “The more I drank, the more I felt different,” he writes. “Very quickly, desire overwhelmed me. It was carnal, brutal and violent, and I couldn’t control it.” By the way, the letter is part of a book, “Letter to Stephanie,” which was reprinted in the magazine Paris Match.

Loose talk

Entertainment Weekly columnist Jim Mullen on Barbara Walters interviewing “Six to Watch,” superstars of the future: “How does she know who’ll commit heinous crimes?”

Is she really that old? Sounds like a nasty rumor to us

Stevie Nicks turns 49 today.

Then, every time he goes to the bank, he smiles again

Speaking of sensitive males (see main item), Nicolas Cage is upping the ante. “I cry a lot,” he told Premiere magazine. “My emotions are very close to my surface. I don’t want to hold anything in so it festers and turns into a pus - a pustule of emotion that explodes into a festering cesspool of depression.”

And we have no plans to use this in our further columns

Speaking of the Monaco royals, Prince Albert, 39, has been linked of late to Swedish waitress Anna-Karin Hasselborg, 21. But, he says, it’s a big fuss over nothing. The prince told Stockholm’s Expressen newspaper, “I have no plans for her in my further life.”

Too bad Gene Simmons wasn’t around for the moment

In his video for the song “The World Tonight,” former Beatle Paul McCartney lays a kiss on his wife, Linda McCartney, that may set a record for longest smooch ever on a music video. Linda McCartney is recovering from breast cancer.

They don’t call him speedy Sly for nothing

Now honeymooning in the exclusive K-Club in Kildare, Ireland, Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin have time to mull over their sudden wedding. According to “Access Hollywood,” Flavin’s sister was as surprised as anyone over how fast the whole thing happened.

And they’re bound to bring in some very big numbers

According to Jeff Goldblum, the mechanical dinosaurs on “The Lost World” posed a threat. “You have to turn off your walkie-talkies when you’re around them… because these things might get out of control,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “And if they get out of control, they can kill. They’re very big and very powerful, and they can kill.”
