Potlatch Foundation Awards 12 Scholarships

Local high school students were recently selected to receive three-year annually renewable $1,400 Potlatch Foundation for Higher Education scholarships.

The recipients and their high schools are:

Stephanie M. Buzga, Troy High School, plans to attend the University of Idaho and major in elementary education; Ed Coulter, St. Maries High School, plans to attend the University of Idaho and major in computer engineering; Kristy Jo Funke, Deary High School, plans to attend Lewis-Clark State College and major in elementary education; Katherine R. Haddock, Potlatch High School, is undecided about a major or college of choice; Annika B. Jones, Coeur d’Alene High School, plans to major in Spanish and English at a yet undecided college; James T. McAndrew, St. Maries High School, plans to attend North Idaho College and major in communications; Jennifer Jo Neff, Kootenai High School, plans to attend North Idaho College and major in physical therapy; Melissa D. Purdy, St. Maries High School, plans to attend North Idaho College and major in business/accounting; Katherine T. Rush, Kendrick High School, plans to attend the University of Idaho and major in biology; Jeffrey M. Tweedy, St. Maries High School, plans to attend North Idaho College and major in carpentry; James C. Twoteeth, Lakeside High School, plans to attend North Idaho College and major in computer applications in business; and Amy C. Ward, Deary High School, plans to attend the University of Idaho and major in criminal justice.
