Music Students Plan Free Concert
Coeur d’Alene School District orchestra students will give a free public concert Wednesday as part of the district’s sixth annual Strings Festival.
The festival started as a middle school event for about 60 students, said Canfield Middle School music teacher Peggy Mahoney. It now encompasses grades six through 12, and involves 165 students.
Students will spend the day in master classes taught by members of the NIC Symphony and Spokane Symphony, and participate in large group rehearsals conducted by Terry Jones, NIC music instructor.
The noon concert will take place in Schuler Auditorium of Boswell Hall. , DataTimes
