Larry King Co-Authors Book On Divorce
CNN’s Larry King has been accused of being too easy on guests.
And some might say he’s been married a tad too many times. Five in all, he says. Although only twice in the last 25 years.
But don’t ever say he’s been a bad dad. “I’m a very good father,” King says. “I’ve not exactly been the numero uno husband.”
King, 63, and his daughter, Chaia King, 29, have written “Daddy Day, Daughter Day” (Dove Kids; $12.95), a story about divorce told from the point of view of both parent and child.
The book, aimed at 5- to 8-year-olds, describes a few events that actually occurred in King and his daughter’s life.
“We try to show parents and children that life with divorce can be rewarding,” Larry King said. “Of course there are downsides … (but) you can still have a fulfilling life.”
The idea was sparked when actress Deborah Raffin, co-owner of Dove Books, approached King and his daughter about doing a book together. King, who celebrates 40 years in broadcasting this year, has produced eight other books. A 10th is expected to be released next year, although this is his first children’s book.
