‘La Femme Nikita’ Renewed

“La Femme Nikita,” the USA Network action series starring high-heel thumper Peta Wilson, has won a 22-episode renewal for next season and will headline a four-hour, original-series Sunday night block that USA rolls out June 22.

“We’re stretching prime time and trying to make USA a more accessible network,” USA Entertainment President Rod Perth said.

The block - a basic-cable first - also includes new-season episodes of USA’s “Pacific Blue,” “Silk Stalkings” and “The Big Easy.”

“We’re making Sunday night a real destination, with shows that have compatibility and promote each other,” Perth said.

Perth also said weeknight repeats of the hit CBS Chuck Norris actioner “Walker, Texas Ranger” will debut Aug. 4. USA also has ordered 91 episodes of “Saved by the Bell: The New Class” for a one-hour weekday 5 p.m. teen block also starting up Aug. 4.
