Vision Wall To Begin Idea Search

From Staff And Wire Reports

It’s time to start envisioning Spokane County’s future.

County planners will begin collecting citizen’s ideas when the “Vision Wall” is unveiled Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Public Works Building.

After the unveiling, the 10-foot-long wall will travel around the county to shopping centers and parks - even movie theaters - as a way of collecting community thoughts on growth.

Citizens are invited to write their ideas on the wall.

An open house is planned from 2:30-8:30 p.m. for residents to meet with Planning Commission members and sign up for one of the work groups.

Topics include urban and rural land use, parks and open space, utilities and economic development.

Groups begin meeting the week of May 12 and continue through summer. Policies developed in the groups will be presented to the public in the fall.

Ideas from the wall and work groups will help shape the county’s comprehensive plan and guide county development for the next 20 years. , DataTimes
