U.S. Stays Alive

Needing a win to keep its medal chances alive, the United States held on for a 4-3 triumph over the defending champion Czech Republic at the World Hockey Championships.

The U.S. faces Russia today in a game that will determine whether the Americans stand a chance for a medal.

Russia beat Sweden 4-1 in Monday’s other game.
