Ex-Yankee Larsen Takes Mound At Nic
He won’t have to be perfect this time. Former New York Yankee Don Larsen, who tossed a perfect game in the 1956 World Series, will throw out the first pitch at North Idaho College’s baseball doubleheader at 1 today. Larsen is retired and lives in Hayden.
NIC’s three-game series with Treasure Valley (there’s a single game on Saturday) will mark the end of coach Jack Bloxom’s 30-year career.
North Idaho (4-11 league, 12-18) must sweep Treasure Valley (5-7, 18-29) to advance to the Region 18 Tournament.
