Robert Edwards Spokane

Visitation for Robert W. “Bobby” Edwards, 71, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Heritage Funeral Home. Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Mr. Edwards, who died Wednesday, was born in Mobile, Ala.

He graduated from high school in Mobile.

He served in the Air Force for 27 years and retired in 1974 as a senior master sergeant.

Mr. Edwards joined the civil service as a funds and management administrator at Fairchild Air Force Base and retired in 1991.

He was a 25-year Spokane resident and a member of Linwood Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elizabeth; a son, Robert Edwards of College Place, Wash., five daughters, Linda Crelia of Nashville, Tenn., Karen Creamer of Puyallup, Wash., Tina Russell and Sandra Stepp, both of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lorenda LaMarche of Spokane; a brother, John Edwards of San Antonio, Texas; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.

Eva Schneider Moses Lake

Service for Eva M. Schneider, 91, will be at 11 a.m. today at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Ritzville. Burial service will follow at the Ritzville Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Schneider, who was born in Russia, died Tuesday.

She moved to Ritzville in 1948 and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Schneider was a member of the Nazarene church in Moses Lake and Ritzville.

She had lived in Moses Lake since 1990.

Two husbands preceded her in death, Peter Stahr died in 1942 and Henry Schneider died in 1985.

Mrs. Schneider is survived by two sons, Alex Schneider of Vulcan, Alberta, and Leslie Schneider of Loon Lake, Wash.; two daughters, Leah Ward of Kennewick and Hannah Nurss of Union Gap, Wash.; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Victor Schrag Cheney

Visitation for Victor John Schrag, 82, is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. today at the Cheney Funeral Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Dr. Schrag, who was born in Schrag, Wash., died Thursday.

He moved with his family to Soap Lake, Wash., and later attended Ephrata (Wash.) High School.

He graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, and joined his father, uncle and brother in chiropractic practice at the Soap Lake Sanitarium.

In 1940 he married Nancy Brewster and they settled in Soap Lake.

They moved to Smelterville, Idaho, and then to Coeur d’Alene, where they retired.

Mr. Schrag moved to Cheney three years ago.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dwight Schrag of Bellevue, Wash., and Steve Schrag of San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Carolyn Kenoyer of Cheney; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cheney Care Center Special Support Unit.

Betty Dullanty Portland

No service will be held for Betty B. Dullanty, 80, at her request.

Mrs. Dullanty, who was born in Spokane, died Wednesday.

She graduated from the University of Washington and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta.

In 1970 she moved to Mercer Island, Wash., and in 1974 to Portland, where she worked for Nordstrom.

Mrs. Dullanty is survived by a son, John Dullanty of Bellingham; a daughter, Susan Dullanty of Portland; a sister, Janet Bissett of Tigard, Ore.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Burkey Deer Park

Service for Kenneth Edward Burkey, 35, is set for 1:30 p.m. today at the Church in the Wildwoods in Deer Park. Private burial will be at the Zion Hill/Trysil Cemetery in Clayton, Wash. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Burkey, who was born in Spokane, died June 19 in Palm Springs, Calif., where he was on a business trip.

He graduated from Deer Park High School.

He had worked as a manager for Al’s Auto Supply in Spokane.

Survivors include his wife Diane; three sons, Jack, John and Timmy, and three daughters, Kris, Tiffany and Michele Burkey, all at home; his mother, Gaye Woodrow of Northport, Wash.; a brother, Jim Burkey of Colfax, Wash.; and a sister, Susan Banks of State College, Pa.

Joyce Medin Spokane

Private service for Joyce E. Medin, 67, will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at the Pines Cemetery. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of cremation.

Mrs. Medin died Wednesday.

She was born in North Dakota and had lived in Spokane for more than 60 years. She worked as a waitress.

Mrs. Medin is survived by her husband, Bill; two daughters, Rita Anderson of Sumner, Wash., and Sherry Harris of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a son, Diaz McKenzie of Lebanon, Ohio; three sisters, Karen Ivy of Deer Park, Jeanette Wilks of Ilwaco, Wash., and Donna Parrish of Spokane; two brothers, Delmar and Leo Meyer, both of Spokane; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Gregory Giese Spokane

Service for Gregory B. “Greg” Giese, 35, will be at 1 p.m. today at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Giese, who was born in Bismarck, N.D., died Wednesday.

He had lived in Spokane for 10 years and was a homemaker.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; three sons, Taylor, Joshua and Logan Giese, all at home; his parents, Charles and Karen Giese of Billings, Mont.; a brother, Jeff Giese of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Michele Giese of Billings; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Giese of Fairview, Mont., and Harold and Janice Lamon of Hawley, Minn.

Walter Baxter Spokane

Private graveside service for Walter B. Baxter, 93, will be held at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Baxter, who was born in Lake Nebagamon, Wis., died Wednesday.

He worked as an electrical mechanic for Washington Water Power from 1936 to 1969.

Mr. Baxter was a 62-year Spokane resident and a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church and Northwood Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Coriena; a daughter, Joanne Johnson of Veradale; a son, Gene Baxter of Lincoln City, Ore.; a brother, O.V. Smiset of Manzanita, Ore.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
