Bradley Veile Chosen Mandel Teacher Fellow
Bradley Veile, an educator from Lakeside High School in Plummer, has been chosen as one of 22 national Mandel Teacher Fellows for 1997-98 by the U.S. Education Department Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Veile was selected based on extensive knowledge of Holocaust history, professional and community Holocaust education involvement and successful teaching practices.
He will participate in a five-day summer program for secondary teachers emphasizing advanced historical and pedagogical issues in order to create educational programs in schools, communities and professional organizations.
Two local University of Idaho seniors have been honored as members of Alpha Zeta, an agriculture and forestry honorary society. Eligible students must have a minimum 3.2 grade-point average and be at least a sophomore. Honorees are as follows:
Virginia Boes, a food and nutrition/dietics major and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Boes of Hayden Lake; and David Belles, a plant protection major from Moscow.
Patrick Rolland, son of Chris and Eric Fehr of Coeur d’Alene and Paul Rolland-Chesney, recently graduated from Seattle University with a major in English/political science and has been on both the Dean’s List and Provost’s List.
Rolland plans to attend graduate school in journalism and was formerly sponsored by the Coeur d’Alene Rotary Club as a Rotary Exchange student in South Africa in 1991-92.
Kimberly Childress, a University of Idaho zoology major and daughter of Randall and Claudia Childress of Murray, recently received a Sophomore Award in recognition for attaining a 4.0 grade-point average for her first three semesters at the university.
