Drilling To Begin At Silver Strand Mine

Silver Trend Mining Co., of Osburn, Idaho, said Tuesday it will begin drilling at its Silver Strand mine close to Fernan Saddle in Kootenai County.

The company, which changed management last December, owns 30 claims on the property. It spent $100,000 to finance the Silver Strand mine project.

Company Director Kurt Hoffman said the total amount of reserves are unknown, but he hopes the gold and silver deposit will provide enough reserves to attract investments by major companies.

The Silver Strand mine hasn’t been in production since 1982, company officials said. , DataTimes
