Arts And Crafts Included In Emmanuel Lutheran’s Bible School

Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 639 Elm Street in Cheney, will host a vacation Bible school July 14-18. “Adventure Fair: God’s Kids in Action” will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Children ages 3-12 are welcome.

The children will be making arts and crafts, listening to stories, and playing games. Those attending the school will also participate in action outreach activities such as assembling school kits to be distributed in third world countries.

The week will end with a picnic at noon on the last day. Parents are invited to attend the celebration.

The school is free, but donations will be accepted. Pre-registration is encouraged and can be done by calling the church office at 235-6300. Registrations also will be accepted before classes on the first day. For more information, call the church.

First Covenant Bible school

First Covenant Church, 212 S. Division, will also host a vacation Bible school July 14-18. The school is open to children in kindergarten through the sixth grade. For more information, call the church office at 747-2818.

New time to worship

Highland Park United Methodist Church, 611 S. Garfield, is moving its worship service to a new time during the months of July and August. Sunday services will now be held at 9:30 a.m.

Service canceled

The Unitarian Universalist Church, 4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive, is canceling its 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday. Next Sunday’s service will be held at the New Hope Baptist Church, 409 S. Greene. The service, to be led by the Rev. Percy “Happy” Watkins, will be at 11 a.m.

New service added

The Cheney United Methodist Church, 204 Fourth Street, is adding a new worship service to its Sunday schedule. The service will be held at 7 p.m. each week.
