Cox Broadcasting Buys Seattle’s Kstw

Cox Broadcasting will buy KSTW in Seattle from Gaylord Entertainment for $160 million, the companies announced Monday.

KSTW is a CBS affiliate in Seattle, the nation’s 12th largest television market. The sale will require approval of the Federal Communications Commission.

Cox, based in Atlanta, owns or operates 11 television stations in nine markets, a movie and television production company, three television sales representative firms and Cox Radio Inc.

Gaylord owns and operates The Nashville Network, Country Music Television, the Grand Ole Opry, Opryland Hotel, Opryland theme park and Word Records and Music.
