Jfk Jr., Wife Spend Holiday In Montana
John F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife spent the New Year’s holiday on a ski vacation south of here.
Kennedy and wife Carolyn Bessette were at the Big Sky Ski and Summer Resort. They left the airport near Bozeman on Thursday for Salt Lake City, a connection point for many Montana flights.
“We had a great time,” Kennedy said Thursday at Gallatin Field. They were accompanied by their dog, Friday.
Kennedy and Bessette spent Wednesday night at the Bar Nothing Ranch about 12 miles south of Big Sky, said Don Jeffery, owner of the ranch.
“They were tired of people,” Jeffery said. “I didn’t bother them.”
Bessette was unhappy about a news reporter’s attention at the airport, although she and her husband were virtually unnoticed by other people there.
“It’s our vacation,” she told a reporter for The Billings Gazette. “It’s not cool.”
While she waited to check luggage at a Delta Air Lines counter, Friday took one last sprint in the terminal and turned several heads before being tucked away in a travel cage.
“He goes everywhere,” Kennedy said.
