Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I have a neat tip. When I receive a statement from large department stores they always include several fragrance samples on paper. I insert them in my bed linens and they give the linens a nice fragrance.

It lasts until the next month’s statement arrives with a pack of fresh fragrances. - Della Ruth McCarley, Spruce Pine, Ala.

Good hint. We have had similar hints before, and after printing them we always get letters from scent-sensitive readers who ask us to remind others that if they are inviting guests to stay overnight to check if they are allergic before using a scent strip in the spare bedroom. - Heloise

Dear Heloise: Save large laundry detergent boxes with handles for children’s smaller toys. They are strong and can also be decorated with wallpaper. - Claire B. Anderson, Seattle
