Nintendo Postpones Release Of Games
Product delays by game developers will push back the release of several major new video games by Nintendo of America Inc. to early next year - too late for the crucial Christmas rush.
“This announcement is about quality,” Chairman Howard Lincoln said at a briefing Wednesday at his company’s headquarters here.
One of the new releases, Banjo Kazooie, an adventure game featuring a bear and a rooster, was to be the focus of a $10 million Taco Bell promotion, but “in the last 30 days it became increasingly apparent that we can’t get it on shelves by Nov. 24 and not compromise quality,” Lincoln said.
