Symphony Returns For Comstock Concert
No Labor Day in Spokane is complete without a picnic and the Spokane Symphony performing at Comstock Park, a Spokane tradition since 1986.
This year’s Comstock Park concert, on Monday at 6 p.m., features music director Fabio Mechetti conducting patriotic favorites, music from “Jurassic Park,” Sousa marches and Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture.” The concert also includes the participation of the Spokane Symphony Chorale in its first appearance in the Labor Day concert.
Awards will be given for the best-decorated picnic table or display. Also, the Spokane Arts Commission sponsors booths where audience members can learn about the 1997-98 arts season.
, DataTimes MEMO: For a full preview of the concert, see Friday’s Weekend section.
