A new Canada goose hunting season has been scheduled across Washington Sept. 6-12.

The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission authorized the hunt to help control crop damage.

Hunters must have the state hunting license and state and federal duck stamps in order to hunt the early seasons. Shooting hours on Sept. 6 and 7 are from 5:50 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Eastern Washington. On Sept. 8-12, shooting hours are from 6 a.m. to 7:20 p.m.

The general state waterfowling season opens Oct. 11.
