Microsoft Extends Key Tronic Alliance
Microsoft Corp. says it has decided to extend its business relationship with Spokane-based Key Tronic Corp.
Neither Key Tronic nor Microsoft would offer specifics of just what that extension will involve, but John Barnes, marketing communications director for Key Tronic, says it’s important.
“Basically, it means they’ve looked at our relationship so far and have given us a passing grade, and will continue to work with us,” Barnes said Tuesday. “But Microsoft being Microsoft, they really don’t want to offer any more details than that.”
Two years ago, Microsoft contracted with Key Tronic to develop and manufacture a popular ergonomic computer keyboard that became one of the first hardware items Microsoft sold under its name.
Key Tronic has also announced a partnership with Northern Telcom to manufacture wireless keyboards for some of Northern Telcom’s new product lines. Northern Telcom is a diversified provider of communications equipment and services.
