Helicopter Logging To Hold Up Traffic
Helicopter logging will delay traffic on some Forest Service roads and trails for the next several months.
Delays are anticipated on Forest Service Road 3099 and Trail No. 22. They are located about four miles northeast of Magee.
Traffic on the road and trail will be stopped when helicopters are overhead, said Susan Jeheber-Matthews, Fernan-Wallace district ranger.
The trailhead for Trail No. 22 will be closed to camping and parking. The trail itself is open for riding and hiking.
Campsites are available along Forest Service Road 6310, which is about 1.5 miles from the trailhead.
Road crews also are doing work on three bridges along Forest Service Road 209, which follows the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River. Bridges are being replaced at milepost 13.9 - Laverne Creek, milepost 15 - Leiberg Creek.
Temporary bypass bridges will provide vehicle passage while the work is underway. , DataTimes
