Norris Goes To Court
Saying he should have had a shot at Mike Tyson last year, heavyweight Orlin Norris asked a federal court in Philadelphia to bar the WBA from sanctioning the June 28 Tyson-Evander Holyfield rematch.
Norris, who lives in San Diego, said he twice was denied the WBA’s top ranking. Had he been properly afforded that ranking in either May or September 1996, he, not Holyfield, would have been in position to command a fight with Tyson, according to documents filed with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
