New Signature Requirement

At the request of our readers, the Spokesman-Review Roundtable Page will require a more complete signature on the letters we publish. The goal is to reduce confusion among persons with similar names but dissimilar opinions.

Our new policy is as follows: Letters must be signed with a full name including a first name and an initial. “John Q. Public” or “Q. John Public” meet the requirement but “John Public” or “J. Public” will not. “J.Q. Public” is acceptable, but we will give preference to letters signed with a full name. Thank you for your cooperation, and thank you all for writing.
