Studded Tire Deadline Extended
On the last day they were legal for this season, the Washington Department of Transportation extended the deadline for use of studded snow tires.
Drivers now can keep the studs on their cars until April 15, transportation officials said Monday. Inclement weather in the mountains prompted the extension.
Department officials ask people who don’t plan to drive through the mountains to remove studded tires from their cars now.
Idaho drivers have until that state’s regular April 15 deadline to use studded tires.
