Rockslide Blocks National Forest Road
A rockslide has blocked the Black’s Creek Road, 20 miles north of Interstate 84 on the Boise National Forest.
Officials say the road, which gives hunters and others access to the Prairie and Rattlesnake areas, will remain closed indefinitely.
“That stretch of road always has had a slide problem,” said Fish and Game Conservation Officer Bob Sellers. “A wet spring finally produced a slide too large to fix easily.”
County officials estimated the cost of “slide proofing” the stretch will cost about $1 million, nearly the entire county road budget for 12 months.
