Denver Extends Benefits To Gay Partners

The City Council voted 11-1 to extend health benefits to the partners and families of gay city employees.

The council, which voted without discussion Monday night, heard little opposition to the proposed ordinance at prior hearings.

The measure now goes before Mayor Wellington Webb, who has said he will sign it.
